They seem to be incredibly hard to find, but my fear of dropping our new Darmah while getting it on the center stand has me crossing my fingers someone has one lying in a box somewhere.

Re: WTB side stand for 1981 Darmah SD
i'd be more worried about it dropping because of it being on a side stand...
Please remove the center stand bolts and make sure they are still ROUND. If not replace them. If so lube them well and reinstall, it will be noticeably easier to get it onto the center stand. Yes we have now center stand hardware kits and springs.......

Yeah, I've heard that about the side stands, I'm looking for one more as a "back up" as I'm getting off the bike. Once I'm off & steady I can get it on the center stand fine. It's just during the actual balancing act until I have both feet planted where I'm nervous.
I'll check those bolts as you suggested. We'll be doing some work on it this weekend, looks like our package from you is waiting at the post office for us!

Hi An, this won't help you when you go someplace and want to get off your bike, only when you get home, consider getting a condor pit stop wheel stand. You just ride onto it and it will hold you upright. Then you get off the bike and it securely will hold your bike upright.

I was hoping that would be a picture of Carlos Checa standing in my garage waiting for me to pull up, but I guess that stand will work too.
Hendrik - will email you shortly. Look for a note from [email protected]

Cheers to Hendrik! Stand arrived safe & sound yesterday. We did a quick fit last night & it seems to be just what I needed! We'll be making a hardware run this weekend. Thanks again! ~An
