WANTED - NOS Aprilia Headlight Ring and NOS Voxbell horn

Post by Phactory »

Hi, looking for a couple of NOS parts. An Aprilia headlight ring and a Voxbell horn, both to fit a 1974 750 Sport. Any and all leads greatly appreciated! I am in the Boston area.

Thanks, Phil

Good luck with the headlight ring - hope your bank account is healthy.

Voxbell horns are still available though - Steve has them on his site, as do

a number of other places which can be found by googling. My original 1974 parts manual shows the Sport and GT both having a Hi+Lo tone pair.

Regards, Steve.

Steve,

I saw one go on ebay recently for $150.00. I know I can re-chrome the one i have but then it is going to look so much better than the headlight bucket that I will be forced to also re-chrome that. I am trying to avoid that.

I did look at the horns on BH amd didn't think it looked exactly the same. I have also seen themn on ebay. I just gotta keep looking!

Thanks, Phil

Martin - the Voxbells that I got (admittedly not from Steve but from Mdina Italia a couple of years ago) were identical to the originals as far as I could tell, which I still had on my bike but which were looking a bit tatty. So I was able to directly compare them.

How do those now available differ from the originals?

Cheers, Steve.

(IG? - Phil, I suggest that you "Go an' Look" ...)

Hi Steve

I also managed to find a genuine Voxbell last year for my 76SS that I'm restoring at the moment , the new units have some lettering missing that are on the older units and the wire connectors at the rear are also different

Phil

Depending on how far you want to go with your resto , everything comes at a price these days and bargains are seldom seen , what is wrong with your old unit ? you can restore them you know just takes time , If you get stuck send me a PM , I have a gen horn that I just need to reassemble and it does look like new.

IG = Ian Gowenlock , ebay name -- italsparesducati

Cheers Mate

Martin,

I am trying to avoid rechroming my original headlight ring, as it has rust through the original chrome. I feel if i do rechrome it, then it will look much better than the headlight bucket and I am really don't want to rehcrome both pieces.

If the price is too silly then I may just go ahead and redo my original.

My Sport is really original and I am trying to keep it that way.

I did find IG on the web but I will also look on ebay.

Thanks, Phil
