My concern would be that the cases have been opened, this reduces top dollar, but if Falloon says it is a real greenframe, then they have sold for between 48K and 60K. I would think top dollar would go to one with the cases lead seal still in place. But these bikes get harder and harder to find. Makes you wish you had paid 1500$ in 74.

If you are bidding be very careful about the engine and frame numbers, Falloons book is the best place to look, and he seem to be willing to offer advice if you can get his email address. Another guy who knows is Rich Lambrechts you can search for his web site (he is a good guy)

.... a couple years ago they sold for that. Last 3 I know of sold at more than 80K in the past 6 months or maybe it has been longer than that.. I am guessing this bike goes in the 75-80+ range as well. Missing the lead seal is no big deal as they get scraped off loading onto ramps etc, this owner says whay it is missing and that ain;t no big deal...

The owner of this site is one of the best sources of information, $75K!, I remember saying no to a greenframe, but then again I also thought microsoft wouldnt amount to anything.

Jeezuz....It is really getting scarey what these bikes are going for. Sad thing is, anyone who pays 81 K for this bike will not likely be tooling it around on public streets much, given its rarity and the hefty investment. I hope it does not become a living room sculpture. Very nice bike, if it checks out, and congrats to the buyer.

In the past month 2 1976 900SSs have sold on Ebay, one for $24,000+, and the second just now for $22,000. My wife killed me when I bought a restored (perhaps overly so) 1977 900SS last year for 18K....now she's begging me to find more bikes to invest in....well, perhaps that's over stating things a bit....well, maybe a lot....well, ok, perhaps I was just dreaming, and maybe she will in fact get p o'ed if I cash in my IRA to buy more Italian bikes, but at least I can now make a somewhat rational argument for doing so, if I did.....which I won't....if I want to stay married....
