1985: Cagiva buys Ducati. The Castiglioni brothers take over control.
I've been doing a bit of research about what happened after the takeover, more specifically, what happened to the factory tools, dies, jigs and other materials that could have been useful in keeping these old bevels running in years to come.
Does anyone have any idea about what happened? I am reading a lot about the Castiglionis taking over but not much else. No mention of selling off the old machinery and tools.
It must have gone somewhere?

Some Things Still Remain...
Seems like from what I dug up, most of the tools, dies, jigs etc..
were loaded up and taken away for scrap. It would almost bring a tear
to your eye, except that through a reputable source that I'll keep confidential for now, I hear that a number of the quick thinking
local business operators grabbed as much of the useful gear as
they could and salvaged it. Some of them still operate and through
selective channels, will do production runs of various parts.
Not that all parts are available or were saved but at least some of it
remains.
