Cleaners - Waxes etc FAQ

Post by BevHevSteve »

I have tried lots of stuff, here is my short list of what REALLY works.

*For RUBBER
~ Meguire's #40 Vinyl & Rubber [cleaner/conditioner]

*For PAINT
~ Meguire's #34 Final Inspection [spritz on cleaner]
~ 3M #05997 Perfect-It Hand Glaze [gentle rubbing compound]
~ 3M #05928 Finesse-It Finishing Material [polishing liquid/swirl remover]
~ Meguire's #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax [excellent carnuba wax]

*More products I recommend
For CHROME & BRASS ~ NEVER-DULL or Wellbaum's New Luster Metal Polish
For ENGINE CASES ~ Simple Green, spray on, rince off in 5 mins don;t let dry or you are in for a mess
For GLASS & PLASTIC ~ Sprayway Glass Cleaner

Time is money, so I tried alot of different products to see what would work
the best when I had my shop, the above list is what I always used and still
do.

Steve, is it the Simple Green Atomotive Degreasing stuff or the regular household Simple Green that you find under the sink in the kitchen?

simple green

Post by BevHevSteve »

The simple green I have is what is left of a gallon jug of the stuff I bought several years ago. The remainder is now in an old pepsi liter size plastic bottle. I remember seeing to reduce with water on the label, I have a spritzer I keep loaded up with the stuff, but mix it about 50/50 with water. Since it was several years ago, and a large suply of the green stuff, I would imagine it was the industrial stuff not the watered down stuff you can get in a spritzer bottle presently. Either way though, it works great IF you water everything down, spritz on and keep wet then rince off, followed up with an air blast and a ride.
