Can anyone tell me for sure what colour my 1979 750ss frame is ment to be .

They had silver painted frames.

Thanks it is just that the frame (that looks very original ) is more of a non metallic silvery grey at the moment ,and want to do this as original as possible.

That's probably right then. You could scratch the paint in an inconspicuous area and see if there are any other paint layers underneath.

ive painted a few and the best colour for the silver I have come u p with is a merc silver
