I'm looking for a painter in California

Post by lauren_caputo »

I'm looking for somebody to paint a '79 Ducati 900 SS Darmah. It has minor fairing scrapes so bodywork is needed as well.

I've already ordered the sticker kit through Steve at Bevel Heaven (a VERY knowledgeable guy when it comes to Ducati's) and now I need the painter. Does anybody know of someone in the Bay Area or maybe even down south somewhere?

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks.
Lauren

I've had great work done by Blake Conway, in Vista, 760-732-3950 and Geoff Giamarco, 310-463-5021 (cell phone) or [email protected].

Blake did my 900SS and 750S years ago and they have held up beautifully. Geoff did a great job color matching a fairing piece for my crashed Beemer. He now does paint work for Pro Italia and Beverly Hills Ducati.

I had my Sport done by:
W W Auto Body
Address: 12926 Saticoy St # 5, North Hollywood, CA 91605
Phone: (818) 503-5903
Walt does mostly very high end Harley stuff and did a great job matching the original color.

painters in Bay Area

Post by hulagun »

Unfortunately I don't have the contact info but I know of 3 m/cpainters in Bay Area.

- the guy BMW SF uses...
- Pete the Painter, I think used by Werkstatt and Charlie's Place.
- the shop who advertises all the time on Craigs List.

Maybe someone else has experience with these guys and their phone numbers?

Let me know too. Later this year I'll need someone to repaint my 1979 750 SS. I'd like someone who can do proper prep and paint removal too if its not too expensive. Scraping paint sucks.

I have no affiliation with this painter but saw his post on CraigsList this morning:

"I do great work, about a week turn around time, depending on the job, over 25 years custom painting and restoration work. I have pix of recent work & great references readily available for serious inquiries.
This is a ridiculously low price for this quality of work, shop around, you'll see.
Located in San Jose, but will deliver to most bay area counties for just gas money. Call 415-385-0161 ask for Joe. "

If your still looking Moto Mecchanica in Santa Rosa has a good painter on staff named Jimi. He did a great match on my 998. He also does lots of other custom stuff too. I also know him personally. he's good and fair.
