rechroming gas tank badges

Post by gerard collier »

does anyone one know of a shop that will rechrome the "plastic" gas tank
badges from a 750 GT. The copper is showing through on one of mine Or anyone know where I can get a least one
new or a really good used one.
thanks

Try Christiansen(sp?) Plating in the LA area, best chrome you will ever see. Don't know if they do plastic.

Gerard,
I looked at length at this quite a while ago and the best place over there is to look at the car resto sites. I think there is a supplier in Japan making replicas that he puts onto e-bay from time to time and they look good. I still can't believe in today's tech society that original badges can't be re-done. In Australia some parts are done for car dashes but the process didn't suit for some reason that I can't remember. You'll have a better chance over there.

in Van Nuys and they did a great job, asked them yesterday about doing

I ordered my new side cover badges from "Motomec"in Japan last May,
and they are absolutley perfect, as soon as I received and saw the quality of his product I
asked about the tank badges but they were not in production.
thanks for the replys.
