Fuel tank protection

Post by austduke »

I hope Im in the right section as I have a problem with scratches on my 83 MHR fuel tank. Does anyone know how to prevent this happening while riding it. I was thinking along the lines of a tank cover? Cheers

are you talking about from your belt buckle?

Easiest thing is to take your belt off :P

Also there are plenty of clear, colored or black tank protectors that fit on the back of the tank to keep things from getting scratched

Thanks Steve for the advice and a great forum but I need to keep my belt on to hold my pants up!
I really didnt want to adhere something to the tank as I was thinking of showing the bike later this year. But for practical purposes I guess I might have to.

clear plastic stick ons would be my consideration then...... The red/silver bike you see in my .sig file below I have a black thick stick on thing that at first thought would look hidious but in reality it looks just fine and really works great as I always hve a belt on too and not one scratch to date....
