Hi, Where is the best place to instal an electrical oil temperature guage sender in the '83 MHR engine?

Why? With all the oil in the sump it takes forever to warm and I think the rider would expire from heat before the oil got hot enough to be any problem.
A sender needs to be in constant contact with oil to be accurate.The best non invasive place would be to drill and thread the head of the sump filter but you might have interference problems with the front exhaust pipe.
If the sensor bulb is long enough it could be done through the filler but oil level would have to be at max. and even then it would probably be uncovered on right turns. The best place would require drilling and tapping the cases at a point lower than the oil level,either on the side or bottom of the case.
