I'll be interested to have two spare sets for my Mille, just in case...

Sorry mate. I have been away and just got home. Forgot clean about the rings as I was in a bloody hurry to make flights.
Rings are Part Number 12120131A and are marked as "Made in Germany".

So those rings are a direct replacement of the original, excisting Mille piston rings?

Yes, direct replacement. I have already fitted them to my Mille and run them in. No problems. They are correct for the later belties with 88mm bores and supersede the old Mille number in the parts lists.
I got the numbers from a reliable source ie. Arthur Davis (who sent the sets to me as well)

that part number is for one piston ring set

1 set for one piston . if you have a twin you need 2 sets to serve both pistons

Ok it's been a while, to much other stuff getting in the way but I picked this up today which was the cause of this thread

Good to see you are getting close to finishing the "disaster" recovery.
Head cleaned up ok considering the damage.

$800NZ to get to that point and 25 hours of his time, luckily I'm paying "mates rates" and not full workshop rates

There's still a barrel to replate (maybe two) and I'm tossing up about a bottom end strip while it's this far apart, more to check the rod on that cylinder than for any other reason

Know how you feel. Only just finished doing the heads (new valves, guides) and rings recently and now looks like the cases will have to be split due to a gearbox issue. Bloody frustrating but will look at a crank refresh while it's down.
