Re: FAQ: clutch pushrod order info
I seem to have the later engine and the earlier shorter rods !, mine are 110mm when they should be 113.5 mm. But i don't see why i should not just use the earlier set up with the extra roller. I have a suspicion that a roller may have fell into the clutch center, and as the clutch is firmly stuck its...

Re: Timing cover won't budge!
Getting the marks to line up on the gears behind the points is a bit awkward, if you undo the screw in the points shaft and tap gently you can leave the gears in the case (i think!!) which will help getting the marks to line up, you also need to finish up with the points plate in a mid slot position...

Re: FAQ: clutch pushrod order info
There must be a knack to replacing the outer spring box and keeping the bits from falling out, either that or i need longer bits or something is wrong.Tried heavy grease, and clutch center adjuster all the way in or falling out.

Re: Timing cover won't budge!
The timing is a bit tricky, the cam drive has a hunting tooth design and needs to be turned over about 6 times ??, to get all the marks to align. Its easy to get the points 180 degrees out ,firing at the top of the exhaust stroke. What ign system do you have, flywheel AC mag, or battery fed coil?. Wh...

Re: Timing cover won't budge!
You could try removing the screw in the end of the points shaft.

Re: FAQ: clutch pushrod order info
I've decided to clean up the ends of rods and rollers ,which will also make a bit more room, and allow an extra ball, the big problem is in refittig the cover when you have to get all the bits to engage and the small rod won't stay put . I am fitting an extended lever which makes a huge difference ....

Re: FAQ: clutch pushrod order info
Hi Craig, After 6 attemps to refit the selector box (and lots of swearing) i wonder if it would be better to rip out, the neutral indicator crap and the crossover linkage and revert back to Taglioni's orriginal design! ,all this crapp was surely designed by a commitee of clowns. Or perhaps i'm the c...

Re: FAQ: clutch pushrod order info
I appear to have an odd arrangement of bits. According to the parts list , my motor no 851769 should have 113.5 rods with one roller between ,one roller at clutch end and two rollers and ball at the lever side. What i have is the earlier arrangement with 110 rods with two small rollers between and a...

Re: Adjusting head bearings.
Hi Wdietz, This bike is a crazy mixture of expense and total ineptitude, I have rebuilt bikes from almost archialogical remains and had less problems than Ducatis have brought me. I should have bought a rider as at this time thats what i need.I may have to resort to a Suzuki SV650.

Re: Adjusting head bearings.
Hi Steve,Yup its missing, How anyone could work to such low standards leaves me floored, there is nothing i can trust now, thinking i may be better off breaking the bike and cutting my losses.I dread looking inside the motor.

Adjusting head bearings.
Despite looking closely i have been unable to see a lockring , these are Ceriani forks , is it possible that the DPO has managed to leave this off after fitting new taper rollers?.
