Re: Rack for a darmah

I was hoping someone has a recommendation for a rack to fit a darmah ... Hi Garry, Here in Europe, Hepco & Becker do/did a rack for mounting their Junior range of hard cases. Don't know if they're still available as a listed item, tho' - I got mine off a shop in Germany clearing stock a couple ...

Tank support for a Mark 3

Well, that is exactly the problem. The part is missing from my bike, and I have no idea how it should look like. I posted this, so someone could show me a picture of it or something. Dan Hi Daniil, The part number of the part you're after is 0440.83.030 (and in Italian it's called 'una guarnizione'...

Re: Dellorto problems

The accellerator pump diaphram seem to be good in both carbs but I can't get the accellerator pumps to pump fuel. What should I check and/or replace? Have you primed the pumps? Altho' I've never had this problem, I understand it can happen if the diaphragms dry out. (Steve A. knows more about this ...

Powder or paint?

Ooh, controversial issue here, Martin :-) Steve's really the expert here, but my 2 pence FWIW ... Paint: Original, but more prone to damage and can be more expensive than powder. But easier to retain your earth connections. Painting tube requires a little care and experience, so use someone who know...

Hi Reg

Darmahs up to engine no. 903025 had 52mm stud spacing. Thereafter, 58mm.

So, depending on your engine number (registration dates don't tell you much), more than likely someone's swapped the earlier head for a later one.

SS and Darmah heads the same?

Hi Grover, As no-one else has yet replied ...:-) Check the books, especially any of Ian Falloon's; but I'm pretty sure the SS and later Darmah heads are the same. However, it may be worth pointing out that there were different size valves (and seats) and different cam grinds available from the facto...

Setting the ignition timing on a RITA

Sorry. Hugh, can't help with the procedure for setting the timing using a RITA - I'm still running the Bosch system.

(But sparking at 35 degrees of static advance can't be right, I would suggest?)

Ciao

Backfire

Hi Hugh,

According to the workshop manual on Steve's site, the ignition timing (for the Bosch system) should be 6 degrees BTDC, advancing to 32 degrees ...

Might explain something -?

750 roundcase manuals

Hi Andy, Lots of places to try, depending on what you're seeking - owner's manual, workshop manual, parts list; original, paper copy, electronic ... Here are a few for starters: 1. Our own Steve Allen has electronic versions of the combined GT & SS parts book; and of the GT workshop manual (I su...

SSD seat

Hi Martin I'm pretty sure there was only one style of seat, i.e. the regular early Darmah one (Ducati in white at back, passenger grab strap). Hi Martin Re. the dark blue - sorry, I may have confused you with bad wording in my earlier message. As Steve correctly says, the dark blue was originally done with decals, NOT paint. (And thinking about it, I may be wrong about Dennis doing the dark blue with stencils - it may just be the white he ...

Hi Martin Congrats on getting the SSD. Colours: This is a reference I've been given (I think originally by Andy Nienhagen) for the silver blue: VW marathonblau-metallic (L96M) bzw. VW A01-127717. Don't know about the dark blue, tho'. Otherwise, someone (albeit in the UK) who is more likely to know t...

I am looking for a SSD Darmah <snip>. Ah, obviously a man of taste and discernment! Sorry, I won't sell you mine, though, I'm afraid ... :) I do know someone on this side of the pond who owns 6. Mind you, even he thinks he's might be excessing a bit ... Good luck in your search. Craig in UK/France ...
