Piston Rings

You are correct....that is the problem with the Ducati pistons....Deves dont make the .4 over rings. Somewhere in the world there's either a big supply of Ducati rings or someone is machining something to fit. The more info we can gather on the topic has got to make it easier for everyone.

Piston Rings

See, now there is some sensible feedback....thanks for the offer of rings, Martin has helped me out there. Interesting what you say about gapless rings, the Ducati guy that rebuilt my gearbox is at the moment trialling a set. He has been rebuilding Dukes for 20 years and he has not been able to matc...

Piston Rings

Steve, some good aussie sarcasm, love it......but seriously, I am just curious as to what other people use for rings and where they source them. I am amazed that no-one else wants to share information where and what they use apart from us few here on this thread. If this was on the Blackbird site I ...

Piston rings

Well 232 views of this post, and still none of you have bought a set of piston rings........fair dinkum guys, it must be our Aussie air that wears these things out, and Wdietz186 just beats his to death....so that makes about 4 of us here who have ever purchased piston rings.......Do any of you non ...

Darmah drama

If you do not have rear manifold vacuum with the engine running on the front cyl, I would be checking your valve clearences, valve timing etc.....the plug being wet indicates you should have fuel or really bad oil bypass, youve seen the spark as well. Do you have decent compression in that cyl? You ...

Valve Job

+1 for wdietz186 advice, may I add that I would replace the retaining colletts (8) that hold the valves into the shim........they do fracture in survice and it's REAL cheap insurance!!!!

Piston Rings

Well looks like there is only one person outside Australia that has rebuilt a bevel engine, you have to be kidding guys!!!!...I find it unbelievable that no-one else has EVER put a set of rings in...come on, share your information so that everyone else can easily source parts....or is it just us Aus...

Registration

Martin you sure these rego blokes aren't having you on, my 78 Darmah does not have a compliance plate, it came from South Australia, hadn't been registered for yonks and it was blue slipped straight through. They, the RTA, could'nt even find it on the Australian Bike register under Ducati, Darmah's ...

Fuel Tank

Martin, my Darmah tank will vent if I fill it past the bottom of the filler neck as well, pretty scary stuff with fuel sizzling onto the cylinders at the fuel pumps. It gets between 12klm and 15klm to the litre and on a steady 110kph I start looking for fuel about 150klm.....and by that time this ba...

Your Darmah

Morning Boris, I'm just down the road over the border in NSW> Ive just rebuilt the engine/gearbox in my Darmah and yep, they can be expensive. Just a thought, check your counter shaft sprocket nut is tight. If you are going to step out of your bike without repairing it, give me a cooee, we might jus...

Piston Rings 86.4mm

Does anybody know where I can buy GENUINE Ducati rings at 86.4mm. I have tried the ones here in Australia in a white box with pale blue DUCATI printed on them and they just use oil. The oil scapers appear to be way to tensile. Thanks guys.
