Engine overhaul - what is "must do"

I am planning to take the bike apart this winter to do some paintwork and other stuff. Since I have the engine out I probably should use this opportunity to do some service and maintenance on the engine. It is an 83 Darmah, the speedometer says 19K. The engine runs reasonable well. I have had it sin...

Re: Oil leak by the axel/sprocket

Learned a lot today from your posts and working on the bike. Fond the spacer which I guess is between the shaft and the rubber seal. Was able to turn it around, turns around with the shaft. So I guess the conclusion is to order a new nut, the washer and the special tool to so I am able to set the ri...

Re: Oil leak by the axel/sprocket

Thanks Ducadini,

Found the part 095 at page CF, But I am not sure if I have it or not. As you can see on my first picture there is a metal ring visible on the inside of the black rubber seal, is this the spacer?

Re: Oil leak by the axel/sprocket

Thanks for the assistance,

Found this in the workshop manual, should there be a spacer between the sprocket and the engine. Mine did not have one, and I can find this part looking at the diagrams.

Re: Oil leak by the axel/sprocket

Thanks ducadini for your Reply. Seems like both your explanations might be in effect. The nut was not very tight, actually quite lose. I don't have the special tool, but was able to dismount the sprocket by hand power. Any tips on how to tighten it up when you don't have the tool? If I understand yo...

Oil leak by the axel/sprocket

I have an oil leak by the axel on the right side were the sprocket is.
The leak is between the axel and metal ring, seem like the oil comes out along the profile were the sprocket is attached. Any tips on how to fix this is highly appreciated.

I still have a starter issue

Thanks for the help so fare, but I still haven't manage to fix the issue. Got a new solenoid and installed that, but it did not fix the problem. When I push the start button the solenoid is clicking, but no response from the starter. Took it apart and cleaned everything, the brushes are a bit worn a...

Re: Starter issue

Thanks Guys,

Where is the solenoid located, it is not in the starter? I guess I can follow the wire and find it. I think it is time to change the brushes anyhow. Can you repair the solenoid, or does it need to be replaced?

Starter issue

I have had some trouble with my starter lately on my 83´Darmah. From time to time the starter has just ben "klicking", meaning there is a sound from the starter and I can also feel the klick when I put a hand on the starter. Now this has become permanent, the starter is just "klicking", and won't tu...

Re: Oil leak - need to remove horizontal cylinder head and cylinder

Thanks for the tips wedietz. I am looking for the gasket between the head and the cylinder, but can't find it. The only gasket I am finding is the base gasket. Looking at the bike it seems that there is a gasket, so I am i bit confused. Should there not be a gasket between the head and the cylinder?...

Oil leak - need to remove horizontal cylinder head and cylinder

It seems like I have a small oil leakage from the front/horizontal cylinder. The leakage seems to be between the cylinder head and cylinder. So I guess I have to replace the gasket. Based on the workshop manual it seems straight forward, but I would be interested in any tips on what to don/not do. A...
