You know, I've always wondered whether the intake ports on Darmah and late 70s early 1980s 900 heads were the same as those on the early 900s that came with 40 dellortos (even though they may share the same stud spacing). If they were narrower, adding 40s to a 32 head would not make as big a differe...

hmmmm.....getting the SSD presentable.....well, it was touch and go for awhile, could have been working for world peace, curing an incurable disease, eradicating world hunger......but getting the SSD presentable has its own set of qualities.....

I find these forks need more pre-load than the stock set up gives (of course, this could be said about just about any 70 or 80s fork). When I got my 80 Darmah SSD, I noted the front fork was much firmer than the stock set up that was on my 900SS, and when I took it apart, I noted someone had placed ...

My SSD has no such brace, and it does look like the one from the Mille MHR. When you see the top of the fairing flap around at speed on my 900SS and my SSD, you can see why someone would want to add such a brace; though on the 900SS it would require removal of the friction damper and on the SSDs it ...

My understanding is that all SSDs came with 58mm spacing for the threaded manifold mounting studs on the heads. Other Darmahs and early bevels that came with 32mm Dellortos had 53MM spacing, so the manifold for the 40mm dellorto would not mount onto these heads. I assume ifyou have a 40mmm dellorto ...

Martin: USA SSDs came stock with 32s, according to most Ducati sources I have read. That being said, the first performance upgrade would be to add 40 Dellortos and Contis, which were popular first upgrades....And congrats on your SSD, even though someone took some liberties with the re-spray....bike...

Idiot lights for Darmah, MHR, Pantah

I just picked up a 1980 Darmah SSD. It had the "Gen" and "Lights" lights burned out (confirmed by swapping out other lights). Does anyone have a resource for replacement lights? These are the colored square lights on the dash of the Darmah, MHR and Pantah, and there might be others....I tried to bid...

36mm Dellortos on Darmah SSD

I just picked up a 1980 Darmah SSD that came with 32mm dellortos. I have located a re-conditioned set of 36MM dellortos, but will likely need to reconfigure the insides (pilot/needle/main jets and perhaps slide). Has anyone done this conversion, and if so, what internals did you use? Spefically, I n...

Darmah SSD seat wanted

I need the black foam seat/seatpan for a Darmah SSD. Not the fiberglass base on which it sits, just the seat/seat pan. If any of you have one for sale, let me know at [email protected]. Thanks

Vince: I guess that makes sense, thanks. After a little more investigation, I guess I was a bit hasty adjusting the float level. Turns out, the little rubber sealing washer inside the left side petcock had turned with the lever, blocking the hole that allowed fuel to flow. This was hard to ascertain...

well...er....that's mostly right, Steve....I did get the Works Dual rate springs and adjustable pre-load fork caps from you, and you did give some good advice on the install, however the bike came with Work Billet Trackers in the rear, which are great shocks no matter where you get them....
