Float levels
On checking the levels on my 32's i found both to be about 22mm. I have re-set them to 18. 4mm seems a lot to be out.Is this usual?.

Re: Gts starter motor
Fired the beast up today, an event, as i've not had it running myself. Electric start worked and got it to tickover. Plenty to still do,but now pressing on a bit .

Re: Gts starter motor
Its all back together but there is still a problem, the starter is stiff to turn ,so it does not start rotating quickly enough to operate the bendix. The bearings are oiled and free , the armature is not bent, the only thing i can think of is perhaps there is no axial clearance. plenty of current be...

Re: Gts starter motor
Hi Steve, thanks for your interest, there appears to be two set-ups for this part , i have neither. So its going to be a guess. With the shims and spacers as in the parts manual i'm left with an assembly with end play .However there is not enough room to fit the parts shown in Walkers and Haynes boo...

Re: Gts starter motor
The Haynes and Mick walkers books show the bendix operating mechanism with 2 spacers and 2 washers on the spindle inside the case. The parts lists show a single spacer and one washer inside the case, they can't both be right. My bike is missing something and has damaged parts because of this. I need...

Re: GTS primary case "O" ring
Hi Ducadini, There is an oil circulation detail on this site and it appears to show the crank oil comming from below the filter ( but after close inspection does not!).The bearing in my clutch cover has no shield and no closing washer. Heaven knows how the B/End has survived, i now doubt it has!!.Th...

Re: GTS primary case "O" ring
Thanks mate, Looks like i'm in for a long haul,( again). I may be able to replace the missing washer with a shielded bearing. The big end is surely suspect now.

GTS primary case "O" ring
The parts list shows an "o" ring in the bottom of the primary outer case behind the gasket. There does not appear to be one on my bike ,what is its function ? is it important . Is it a backup to the gasket?.I also appear to be missing the large washer behind the outer case bearing, Ive been told tha...

Re: Gts starter motor
Starter motor all checked and cleaned, but "Y" shaped yoke that throws the bendix into mesh is very easily detached from the two ears on the ring , Its possible that the "Y" piece arms are too far appart (bent) , Is there a measurement for these arms? .
