Making progress. Now I need to start looking for a pinstriper who can smooth out my shakey lines... I want to have the line where the color splits done on gold. http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/Tank_0600_m.jpg http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/Tank_0602_m.jpg I'm wondering if maybe I should have ...

Well after being stalled for many moons, I'm finally getting back to work on this little beastie. http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/MockUp_0580.JPG In fact if I ever get off my lazy butt and start painting instead of surfing the net, I may even be able to finish painting the gas tank today!!! Well,...

Frank!

Just checked in to see how the rehab is going. The buzz may have died down but we're still thinking about you!

Missed you at the GP. Hope to see you there next year?

Wselcome!

Sounds like you have some neat projects there. I hope you're picking up a shop manual too, in addition to the restoration guide?

What part of Michigan are you in?

I've probably got a stock switch from one of my Monzas around somewhere... no idea what condition it would be in but it might work.

FYI - The stock one on my 750GT didn't fit well at all, I took it off.

(but no, it's not for sale...)

I completely rewired my 750 GT when I rebuilt the bike. Ditched all the stock electrics and went with a fuse box off a Honda VFR1000(?) VF1000? I don't know, something like that. Here's the before shot: http://www.teamyikes.com/Resources/Wires0091.JPG Here's the "after" shot: http://www.teamyikes.co...

I just bought this one last Sunday: http://www.teamyikes.com/ads/95dd_12.JPG It's a 1997 900ss/sp. I bought a new 900ss/cr in '95, sold it to buy a 996 in 2000, but always swore I'd buy another one "someday". As far as I'm concerned the 900ss/sp is the best deal out there in the world of Ducati righ...

I'd expect to pay at least $20k for a decent one. Kind of depends on your definition of "decent" though.

Hey Frank, We've only met once but we "talked" on the bevel list a few times. Thanks for all the info you've imparted, I've appreciated reading your comments on all things Ducati. As for your recent adventure, it's like I was telling my dogs tonight... HEEL! Ok, fine, bad joke. Sorry. Seriously thou...

Good luck with your project. Unfortunately my work on vintage bikes has come to a grinding halt due to other obligations... and what little work I do get done is on my 160... so it's going to be a while before this one sees any progress!

I looked into it when I was doing the rebuild on my '74 750 GT. Sounded like a big use for it was cleaning printing presses. I found a "local" place that did it, but couldn't get them to return my phone calls. I ended up cleaning my cases the old fashioned way - aluminum wheel cleaner and a hand hel...

I'm not positive, but I think Rich Lambrecht's might have a tank for a desmo???

He might have leads on the other stuff too. Be forewarned, he's a busy boy this time of year and it may not be too easy to get in touch with him.
