I think their main advantage was that they are more reliable than the pre bosch ignition systems. They mount on the vertical cylinders bevel gear housing, near the cylinder head. I think with some models there may be some concerns regarding space with the petrol tank. I’m not sure if there would be ...

Thanks for the reply Nico. I’m aware of the 32mm – 40mm options, as my bike has the 32mm Dellorto’s; however I have another engine that is a desmo headed 860/900 with bosh ignition that runs 30mm Dellorto’s. I’m now curious as to what engines, if any used the 30mm carburettors. Perhaps they have bee...

racing a bevel head

Has anyone had any experience racing a bevel head square case 860 – 900, post 1978 model engine? I am wondering how reliable they are, and what type of preparation would need to be done. Also what frames are available these days for one these engines?

To make the flaring easier you may be able to buy annealed stainless tubing. Stainless can be a pregnant dog to work with as it work hardens very easy.

If Steve doesn’t sell them I don’t know where you would buy them. You could buy the tubing and fittings, then double flare the ends, if you know someone with a flaring kit.

What bike did this engine come from?

I have a square case 900 with Bosch ignition and desmo heads. I was going to use it as parts for my 900GTS, but have now been thinking of building a special based on it. One thing that I’m not sure about is the desmo heads with 30 mm Dellorto’s on them. I have heard of small port desmo heads and was...

Thanks Steve, I will keep them in mind. I was hoping someone had found one of Race Techs, Gold Valve Emulators that will fit in the Forks. Generally I prefer a linear rate spring over a duel rate spring; however if I have to retain the velocity squared type damping system I will give the duel rates ...

fork springs

I’m hoping you guys can help me. I’m looking for some replacement springs for my Marzocchi forks, something a bit heavier and preferably a linear rate around .85kg/mm. Also does anyone no if any of the race tech emulators fit these forks?

valve timing

Can anyone help me with the valve timing of a 900gts and that of a Darmah. I am thinking of changing my valve spring heads for desmo ones off a Darmah, I think; and was wondering if there is any difference between them.
