Re: PHF32A vs PHF32C

Steve is correct, there is another "jet" underneath the A series idle jet. There is one other potential difference...the idle mixture drilling may be different to accomodate a longer and different shaped idle mixture screw with the intent of provisioning some finer adjustment to reduce emissions. Th...

Re: Oil drain plug crush washer size

From the SD 900 parts manual...

TAV13.18 0250.70.180 Washer - gasket id21 x od30 x 1.0 3

I measured one I have in a gasket kit and it is 27.8mm x 22.48mm x 1.06mm

Re: Where does the term Pantah come from

Darmah was apparently the name of a tiger character from a popular Italian childrens story. I've never been able to find the story.

Re: Dellorto problem...

As far as I know, Ducati didn't use 36mm dellortos until the Pantah (but my knowledge of the rubber bands could be written on a fingernail :? ). Certainly the 750 Sport has 32mm PHF AS/AD.

My pick above is of a PHF32 AS on a '73 750 GT.

Re: darmah side covers

The problem I experienced was the uneven dimensions of the seat base on my 78 Darmah, not the side covers or frame. One side of the overhang of the seat base was near 5mm longer than other. I used to make surfboards, so was familair with f/g and sorted that out to get an nice even 5mm gap. Even with...

Re: Dellorto problem...

Geodoc is correct in that if you can find a 750 Sport rear manifold it is an elegant solution and makes rear carb tuning much easier. Here's my GT's rear Dellorto with such a manifold. Unfortunately, they seem to be hard to find. http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad252/machten1960/IMG_1048_zps71f87...

Re: 175 Sport preservation project

Unfortunately Steve, on this occasion, my fun on this project will have to be had vicareously. After a few years of keeping my eyes open for a 175 Sport suitable for an oily rag restoration, not surprisingly, I found it in its homeland. I plan to use it in the 2015 Moto Giro d'Italia if the route lo...

175 Sport preservation project

Here's a few pics of my next single project....A pretty much unmolested with preservation task rather than a shiny restoration.... http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad252/machten1960/5_zps7d783324.jpg http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad252/machten1960/1_zps66b8b9a7.jpg http://i941.photobucket.com...

Re: Spaggiari leaning it over

OK Bruce....Good enough...If you'd like to come, you're in. If you'd like to emigrate to Oz, you're also in. (you just have to bring the bevels to qualify and wait until you take me on ride or two around your neck of the woods - and not when that snow and ice is around!!!)

Re: Spaggiari leaning it over

Fair point, Craig. I agree it is important for Bruce to be fully aware of all the implications. Mind you, with a name like "Bruce" he apparently should fit in fine. Funnily enough, I don't personally know any Australian called "Bruce"! Nor an Australian girl called "Shirley"! I know personally one p...

Re: Spaggiari leaning it over

Plenty of time to get prepared Bruce! A few of us are planning on circa end May/Jun 2015 and we'll probably take in the Motogiro beforehand depending on how the route looks for 2015. You'd be more than welcome to join us. A French speaking Canadian would be very handy for any discussions with the Ge...

I know George sold Bruno's bike to a guy in the UK via an agent...
Rediscovered yesterday...the agent was one "Steve Wynne". :vroom:

Re: Spaggiari leaning it over

Yes, Ron Angel bought it after Imola (I seem to recall reading somewhere that he copped a bit of flack from his wife over the price at the time, so I don't think it was given to him). Kenny Blake did ride it for Ron Angel. It may have gone through a few hands after Ron, I'm not sure, but I know that...

Re: Spaggiari leaning it over

Hiya Craig, (we were just talking about you and a Pyrenees ride this very day!) How much Spaggiari is out of the seat, yet I've often read that he was more 'Old Skool', i.e. more Hailwood-style. But maybe he'd picked up something from that Smart bloke by the time this photo was taken ?... Yeah. As y...

Peter, I meant to comment on this when I saw it shortly after you posted it, but I was so in awe that I ended up watching it through a few times. Thanks for posting this. I just love watching Hailwood ride. So smooth. In the face of greater straight line power he made up yards under braking and thro...
