Re: 750GT Rolling Basket Challange

End of an era. The GT is now on to a new owner. Health issues preclude a kick-start only bike, so it's passed to other hands (feet ?). Sad, but we'll just transfer the duty to the old tried & true Guzzi. Thanks for the help & encouragement. George https://i.postimg.cc/8PTWnqC8/Moto-Guzzi-V70...

Re: B6HS Obsolete --- What is non resistor substitute????

What bike / ign. system? I have copper wire plug leads, 5K ohm resistor caps and use BPR6HS plugs on my 750 GT w/ a Dyna-S. Been working fine for years now. Some electronic ignitions are apparently particular though, like the Tri-Spark for Triumphs where either resistor cap or plug, but not both are...

Re: Introduction- getting an 860 GT prepped

Here's a thread over at a Guzzi site of a guy's journey restoring one:

Re: Non high compression pistons for 750GT

Probably want to do a differential compression test first to determine valve as well as rings seal. Might save you a mort of work & $.

Re: 1974 750 GT with PHF32 jetting recommendation

Here's what I finally ended up using in my '73 GT using PHF32's & Wiseco 'Sport' C.R. pistons after much fiddling and fussing on the dyno and then seat of the pants for final tweaks. MJ 125 NJ: 265AB PJ: 62 Needle: K16 (bottom / richest notch) Slide: 70/2 ~ Sea level, Chevron 94 non-ethanol, pod...

Re: Clutch Grabs Violently on Fresh Engine

Not saying that my clutch problem cure would also cure yours, but. After I got my GT engine back from a complete re-bop by Guy, the clutch stuck & grabbed horribly. I tried all manner of things to rectify with no effect. Finally, in desperation I took one of the steel plates and even though it l...

Re: Plated cylinders

Most aircraft cylinders are Nickel Silicon Carbide plated on steel bores (not sleeves, but cylinders made from one piece). I had it done at Millenium too and gotten great results, mostly in longevity and reduced fuel consumption. I see that they will do aluminum sleeves for bikes too. I don't know i...

Re: 1974 750 GT carb question

I had a sticking slides problem that turned out to have an off the wall cause. I concocted a Guzzi boy-racer unit with an aftermarket fiberglass tank and one day the throttle stuck (exciting!). I had the (new dellorto) carbs apart probably half a dozen times looking for problems, but it kept happeni...

Re: ‘74 750 GT Restoration in Seattle

Can't say as that I did know it, though the only Bevel guys I actually know are up here in BC, mostly Square Case SS's of one sort or another. Though there are 203 other GT's I know of in the area, mine seems to be the only one that gets ridden much. Actually just got back from a little scoot to my ...
