Re: What type of oil should I use for my 1970 450 Scrambler

Hi, just chiming into the conversation if that is ok? I haven't been able to find straight weight oil myself. I have found Havoline Straight Weight 40, and I assume that that would be good to use? Alternatively all I can find is some 20w50 in various other brands. I have looked for the Pennzoil and ...

Re: Oil leak (sprocket) and possible remedies

Robin, thanks. I took a look at some parts on http://www.ducaticlassics.com/Parts/Model/250,%20350%20and%20450%20Scrambler/68-75SC10/ I assume parts 5,6 &7 need to be replaced?, but do you know of a way to get these cheaply? Again thanks so much for letting me know that this isn't something out of t...

New from Texas

Hi, This past weekend acquired a 1969 Ducati 450 in pretty good shape. History is a little unknown but it seems to be running well and cosmetically is in pretty good shape. I have longed for the ducati 450 for a while, as aesthetically it's one of the most beautiful engines I have seen ( there are d...

WTB center stand for wide case 450

Hi,

I have a well running 450 just missing a center stand and would like to have one if possible.

I have some old moto morini 500 parts and a smaller amount of 450 parts if anyone wants to trade.

Thanks,
Duran

Question on Different ignition philosophies

Hi, Relatively new member to the ducati world as I now have a pretty good ducati 450 SCR. I wanted to ask / generate a discussion around different ignition systems available for a 450, and which is the best for which application ( e.g. Reliability, racing, daily driver, stock carb/exh, etc.) My know...

Moto Morini 500 Parts

I have been working with some folks on building / restoring a Moto Morini 500 Strada and I have quite a few parts left over. If possible I would like to trade for Ducati 450 parts, but if not they are always for sale if anyone would like them. Veglia dash assembly AirBox Entire wiring harness and el...

Re: Anyone have a 250,350,or 450 Extra motor for Sale?

Realize this is an older post, but just wanted to piggy back off the questions. I found an old 450 RT Desmo engine that has since been converted to a springer. The person selling is requesting $1500 which seems a bit high since it has been convert to a springer. I don't need the Desmo, but just curi...

WTB: single cylinder scrambler

Hi, I'm interested in picking up bike with a motor that kicks over. Running preferred, but not necessary. Looking for a 250-450 scrambler, but would be open to others as well. Thanks.
