Thanks Steve, but this part isn't the problem - it's the threads in the case that it screws into that are stripped. I might have a lead in getting the area helicoiled after all through Ron Young.

Fellow Bevelista, I've recently changed the oil filter on my 860GT and noticed that the filter post threads within the filter housing have essentially stripped. #$%#!!! I've previously used helicoils to repair stripped threads in aluminium, but they are not going to work in this application. I'm aft...

G'Day Ed. Looks like we have something in common - I've just started my first Italian project with, you guessed it, a '75 860 GT. Any chance of some pics of your bike?

A question for the guru's out there, my 860GT has had the crossover pipe removed and replaced with a small straight through pipe into the conti's. My question is, will it run better with this set-up or would I be better off fitting a crossover pipe? Will it matter either way?? I assume the crossover...
