Gearbox - Nova

If anyone else out there through necessity is contemplating gearbox work in the future, you might be interested in this response to an e-mail I sent to Nova Racing. Hi Mike, thank you for your enquiry and I apologise for the delayed response. We have had a lot of enquiry's for gearboxes for these en...

Classic Racing NZ 2013

Its that time again. Just got back from Hampton Downs Park Raceway, NZ , and loaded some pics from the NZCMCRR 2013 event this year featuring "Triumph" and Ron Chandlers Championship winning Trident. One of the benefits of being in NZ is also getting to see the Britten up-close and persona...

Re: GT/SD/SS Special

Thanks for the kind comments. I think it looks pretty cool (from most angles anyway!) but its always good to hear that others think so too. Of course, if I had a green frame 750ss, I wouldn't have done this to it! Not long after getting it to this stage I had to rebuild the motor after an ignition p...

Sachse electronic ignition replacement

I'll just add my experience so far with the installation of an Elektronic-Sachse replacement ignition unit on my Darmah motor. I was having problems with "losing" spark one cylinder and difficulty starting and had already changed to green Dyna coils, had the pick-ups re-wired and re-set, a...

Re: Crankcase/barrel dowels

Yeah you're right, except that there's enough clearance on the stud holes for the barrel to rotate left and right a bit which was worrying me. I loosened off the heads though and tried rotating the crank back and forth and it does all seem to self centralize pretty well so until the next dismantle.....

Crankcase/barrel dowels

Any one else found no dowels in the holes in the crankcase and no corresponding holes in the bottom of the barrels for them anyway?
Looks like the original GT's had no dowels at all, but mine is an SD and I'm wondering how worried I should be...

Clutch drum annular bearing orientation

I didn't take enough notice oh so loong ago when removing the clutch bearings and now I can't figure out which is the right way for the rear annular thrust bearing. Is there a wrong way? The two pictures I've found on the net so far each indicate a different rotation. I've gone for thrust face insid...

Re: SD900 Starter Sprocket

Thanks ducadini/radecal. I also posted a request in the 'wanted classified' section of this forum, and received some good info on a NOS sprocket/chain that became available on ebay, which I subsequently bid on and aquired.
Great work Forum peop's, thanks.

Yeah, Thanks Kev, I kind of expected that would be the case. No luck with Giovanni. I'll presume he's checked the couch :-D

That would be Awesome Bill, Thanks. I've had a response from Giovanni and if he's had a look behind the sofa I'm not sure, but he's only still only offering a 15T. I'm in New Zealand

Re: SD900 Starter Sprocket

Thanks for confirming that, but as I've not seen any 11T advertised, does anyone know or would like to guess how the Marrelli starter motor would cope with a 15 T sprocket? I have no experience with electric leg (Bevel)Ducatis.
Cheers
