Speedline Crack Testing in Shropshire?

Evening everyone from Shropshire, UK (SY10) near Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Chester and the like. I've been the happy owner of a first series 900 Replica for 10 years. Used this Forum a lot when restoring her. I have now added a 1979 900SS to the stable, with Speedlines. Sadly the specialist...

Re: Request for assistance - 750S with electronic ignition

Hi Steve,

Not sure as I keep it plugged in to a Optimate trickle charger pretty much all the time.

Do you think there is a possibility of an open circuit somewhere leaking to earth?

Regards

Stuart

Wanted - rear 4 hole FPS

Evening All, I'm looking at buying an early second series MHR that sadly has a pair of mis-matched wheels. Currently she has a four hole FPS on the front and 4 hole Campagnolo on the rear. I'd like to put it back to original if I buy it and so am guessing that it is so early it would likely have had...

Second Series MHR frame

Evening All, I'm looking at an early bike from the second production of Mike Hailwood Replicas, manufactured in late 1979 from reading Ian Falloons book. The numbers are in series and the bits on the bike match. My question is about the frame, on the left hand side there is a plate welded with two m...

Re: Advice on an oil leak 1979 900 Replica

Many thanks I'll try that first. I'll give it all a good clean down and rotate, then go for a ride.

Thanks for suggestions. I'll keep you posted. :-D

Re: Advice on an oil leak 1979 900 Replica

Hi Craig,
You know, I thought about that myself.....

So it's gotta be worth a try.....

Coz the alternatives a bit of a pain isn't it.

Cheers for that.

Advice on an oil leak 1979 900 Replica

Evening All, I awoke number 146 from 6 month slumbers with a ride today. I am losing a little oil from the front cylinder bevel tube. It's dropping/spraying onto the exhaust header pipe. She was oil tight post build and for 4000 miles. I'm guessing a seal has dried out a bit. Any advice on things to...

Evening All,

I'm looking for a pair of original Lafranconi Shark Fin silencers for a 1973 Guzzi V7 Sport.

Re: Advice please on adjusting head bearing on a 1979 Ducati 900 Replica

FWIW it was once mentioned to me that a great deal of motorcycle front end issues begin at the back. While it`s up on the stand check the swing arm is correctly shimmed with no axial clearance and rear wheel bearings are in fine fettle. Thanks Lumpy. I did check rear end and went through the loosen...

Re: Advice please on adjusting head bearing on a 1979 Ducati 900 Replica

Like wot Vince said, Stuart - it's a feel thing. Or as the book says, " The fork should turn smoothly from side to side, without undue friction and without any play ". Yes, hmmm ... That doesn't help me so much :~ . Procedure is to loosen everything up, including the top yoke clamp bolts,...

Re: Advice please on adjusting head bearing on a 1979 Ducati 900 Replica

Ok, this is what I have found. Its a feel thing, and it takes a few goes. I like mine a tiny bit tighter than on the loose side. The cables and wiring can hide some of this. One big thing is as you finaly tighten the top nut hold the bottom so it does not move as well. And for some reason getting i...

Advice please on adjusting head bearing on a 1979 Ducati 900 Replica

Afternoon All, Well, here I am now 4000 miles later on with the 1979 Ducati 900 Replica number 146 that a number of you helped with advice whilst I was rebuilding. :vroom: I've run her in meticulosly, 500 mile oil changes (oil cheaper than bearings) and 2500 miles before I opened her up and poured p...

Craig,

Many thanks indeed. you've been as helpful on the 750 as you were with me on the 900.
