Re: Motoplat ignition 125 six days
Just for someone else that my search this info, I was able to rescue an original Ducati six days motoplat ignition, it was left, anticlockwise, and the original spare parts catalogue of Ducati 125 six days has an error in the table 5, regarding the ignition, since it shows a clockwise one. On the ot...

Motoplat ignition 125 six days
I'm searching an ignition system for my 2-stroke Ducati 125 six days 1977, it was a motoplat ignition, I suppose with right (clockwise) rotation, and external flywheel. Original Ducati part number was 0325.46.453 and it was shared with the 125 “Regolarità”. I have bought the bike with the ignition m...

Thanks wdietz186 very good point ! Now I strongly suspect your interpretation is the correct one: Too lean mixture from the 40 Dell'ortos for a cold engine in cold weather and steam due to a very humid and foggy weather, following the prevalent flow of the left exhaust. In these days I'm looking aro...

Good thinking, not least because getting the rear head off means dropping the engine out of the frame ... >:|!!! Ciao Craig Yes I know  If necessary I'll do the job during the rain season ! Ciao Tanks wdietz186 good point, I hope it could be steam, effectively we had very cold, humid and foggy...

Today it was a little warmer, about 10°C and I just opened the mixture screw of both carbs of a quarter turn. Before trying to start I checked the spark plug of the vertical cylinder, that presented a correct aspect. The engine started at second essay, this time without any backfire or spitting. Jus...

Probably it's a stupid question. This is my first winter with this bike, despite the cold weather, 0-4°C (32-39.2 F), I still want to continue riding. Utilizing the method suggested by BevHevSteve the engine starts at first essay, but at the beginning of the warm-up after a few seconds of running it...

Just received my new voltmeter and once mounted all worked fine. My old faulty voltmeter just seemed to act as yours cause it started to close the contact and so to maintain the warning light every time I was warming the engine and obviously it was the heat from the head that caused that, maybe redu...

I had the same problem just one month ago in my SS darmah. After dismantling and checking all the electric connections I found some crappy contacts but didn't solve the issue. I had quite good volt readings at the battery with engine turning and alternator supposed to recharge (see my previous post)...
