Re: Hi from a UK first time Bevel owner
Hello Mick, I have an 860GT almost exactly like yours, apart from the twin discs (mine only has a single) and the handlebars (a previous owner put smaller, more 'normal' handle bars on my bike). Is yours an 'N' reg like mine? I'm in a kinda-continual use/non-use/restoration process since I got the b...

Re: New carbs - where to start...
More dumb suggestions (which you might have tried already) : * now you've adjusted the carbs, have you tried starting with the choke OFF and giving it a bit of throttle and/or with the idle screws turned in a bit extra? I'm thinking maybe we've gone from one extreme (too lean) to the other (too rich...

Re: New carbs - where to start...
Firstly, to get the simple things out of the way: My 860GT can take more that 5 mins to warm up, so you might want to leave it a little longer before turning the chokes off, just in case it is 'just' that. Did you replace the inlet manifold to cylinder head rubber mountings? These can perish and let...

Re: 350 Sebring
That sounds annoying! Did you get it to start in the end?
You mentioned the advance - as far as I know, it shouldn't need much advance at idle/lower engine speeds, the timing of the spark should advance as the engine
speed inreases.
Anyway, best of luck!

Re: 860 badge
The ones on my orange 860GT are white and chrome as you suggest. One of the 'DUCATI' badges fell off the tank while I was riding - sadly I didn't notice. Luckily, I found these: http://www.stein-dinse.biz/Complete-partlist/Duc-Artikel/Duc-Schriftschild::148921.html to replace it. They are a *lot* ch...

Re: Bunch of beginner questions
You have probably figured this out already but on my SS with similar taps forward is off, down is on and to the rear is reserve. The right side tap feeds the horizontal cylinder, the left the vertical. There is a cross over pipe connecting the two taps. Bruce My 860GT fuel taps - pointing forward =...

I don't think they are ugly; just different.

Re: Tubed tyres for 860GT
That's interesting! All becomes clear now :)
I have used the AM26 on more modern bikes and been pleased with the results, so this is good news.

Tubed tyres for 860GT
Hello! Another possibly stupid question: My bike appears to have the original spoked wheels, fitted with some kind of Dunlop tubed tyre. I have been reading on here that you all reccomend Avon AM26 tyres, but I guess these need new rims, as they are tubeless, right? Given that I don't want to replac...
