Re: Newer PHM40's with white floats.

Hi Steve, re. the float height adjustment I read it on the Dellorto site. So what to set the height to bearing in mind that the white floats are a different weight... or am I overthinking this?

Newer PHM40's with white floats.

Hi all. My MHR has replacement carbs on it which differ from the original 40's. Obvious external difference is the black plastic tops but what is bothering me is the white plastic floats that are fitted. This type is not designed to be height adjustable. I also noticed that they are a different weig...

Re: Bleeding front Brembos with two nipples.

I did a bit more digging on the forum and found this viewtopic.php?f=21&t=895 Seems to have worked really well so a big thanks to the guy that posted the how-to. Will get back into my garage tomorrow morning and confirm that all is good.

Bleeding front Brembos with two nipples.

Hi all. Any advice on bleeding these calipers with dual nipples? Not having much luck so far, do I need to open both nipples at the same time?

Re: Lower bevel gear and spindle

Two different opinions! :) From my own experience I have never noticed this before and in fact the other gear/spindle is tight. It doesn't seem logical to have a gear spinning freely on the spindle, surely the bush and bearing should provide the required movement?

Lower bevel gear and spindle

Hi all. I'm putting my MHR engine back together and have noticed something that I havn't seen before. One of the lower bevel gears turns freely on its spindle, the other is too tight to move. Now i've always assumed that these were one piece assemblies and I've never come across this before. Has any...

Re: Drewitz full flow oil filtration.

Interesting set-up; mine's only half way. I found this on the Internet, same as yours: http://anthonygodin.co.uk/car/ducati-mhr/ It looks like a really clean system. Is there a cooler somewhere? What does the filter look like inside the Drewitz casing? I'm trying to work out how it works from pictu...

I have managed to ID the filter, it's from the old Yamaha XT500.

Drewitz full flow oil filtration.

I have an MHR which was imported to the UK from Germany. It's fitted with a full-flow oil filter system by a company called Drewitz which no longer exist. My problem is that the filter used is not the standard one used by Ducati. It has the same dimensions but has a one-way valve at the bottom and a ...

Re: Clutch basket bearings.

Hi Craig, thanks for taking the time to answer. I've always used the term 'basket' or 'drum' to mean the same part so I've learned something. I really mean part 30 with the two bearings in it. I have replaced these with new ones and refitted the thrust washer, basket, drum, tab washer and tightened th...

Re: Clutch basket bearings.

Well I checked the clutch drum from my SS, I have fitted the bearings correctly. So am at a loss to explain the excessive movement.
Ideas anyone?

Clutch basket bearings.

Hi Chaps. My MHR had got noisier recently ( not owned it for long and not done many miles on it). Removing the clutch cover I found the clutch drum had a lot of play ( not up and down on the shaft but rocking). So not the usual loose nut. I replaced the bearings with new ones, making sure that I ass...

900SS fairing bracketry, help needed please.

Hi chaps, I'm fitting the standard ss fairing to my bike as part of its restoration. I changed it from standard back in 1985 so I'm having some trouble remembering how it should assemble. Maybe someone can look at the attached photos and tell me what I am doing wrong? http://i727.photobucket.com/alb...

Hi all,

In answer to my own question and to help anyone else contemplating this, the single seat will not fit without some frame surgery. ie cutting off the spigots and welding tabs on in their place.

Helpfully,

Chas.
