Nice find Andy; but are you sure it's for a 75 and not a later SS? It'll fit of course, but the black beading with chrome center strip, Ballanti sticker and the Plexiglas 233 stamp makes it look like a 78 onwards screen. It is from a 78. Do you know how the 75 screen looked? If it had beading and st...

Original ss fairing screen needs a polish

HI I have found the original fairing screen for my 75 900ss but it has some marks and could do with a polish what would be the best way to do this. Thanks Andy. http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww279/andys48/100_1379.jpg http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/ww279/andys48/100_1378.jpg [/img] http://i...

Was the 75/76 blue a metallic paint.

Martin Mille / SSD wrote:I was told some time ago that the 75 had a deeper shade of blue when compared to a 76
The 75 had the darker blue it almost looked like a very fine metalic. The 76 had the same colour blue fairing but the tank was a lighter blue.Maybe gum could tell us how the original dark blue look.

Re: Same bike
Well I bought it for $1700 and its a ripper bike. Here is a 1977 pic of the bike. I have great memories of that bike, including outrunning the cops on it. It did a big end, which my mate still has in his shed. Nice polished rods ??? Gum PS note the paint is not the same colour...
