I bought one of the four hole starters from eBay. It fits the latter Ducatis, I think mine came from a 1098. It worked great in my Paso, which is the same basic engine as yours. It has a bit more torque than the stock starter and spins really fast..... sounds like a Chrysler starter. Price was in th...

Thanks for the tip on the megacycle cams. I plan on getting stainless or titanium valves for the bike. Am going a few mm bigger on the intake, polishing the combustion chambers, polishing the exhaust ports, and cleaning up the intake ports while mating them to the intake manifolds. If I need to bore...

Thanks everyone for their replies and suggestions. I discovered that my bike is actually a 900 GTS and not a GT as I thought at first. Already have the nicer body work and seat with dual disc brakes. In the next few weeks my mechanic and I will be tearing into the motor. Wish me luck and expect me t...

OK guys, I figured that the Ducs had head gaskets like the other bikes I have worked on. I was wrong. Bevel drive engines are new to me and I am still learning. I have a couple of manuals, they came with the bike, but my mechanic has them. We are getting ready to start as soon as the weather breaks....

Thin head gaskets and hi-po cams......
Hi guys. I am finally getting started on my 900 GTS. I need to know a couple of things. Does anyone sell thin head gaskets or hi-po cams for the spring motor (Steve ?). If I install the thinner gaskets do I need to also buy shims for the bevel drive unit. Thanks for any help you can give me......Dew...

Paint codes for 1978 GTS........
Here I am again with more questions. I have decided to go with the blue and silver on the GTS I just bought. Does anyone know the BASF paint codes which will match up this paint. Or any other paint codes from different paint. I also want to paint the frame the same silver that is on the tank  ....

Now I am following the force back into the light 8) , I just have to trade my PBR for Chanti......hahaha....

My Paso had 16'' wheels. It cornered great, you just had to get used to it. If you applied the brakes in the middle of a curve it would stand straight up. In an S curve you could go hauling @$$ into the first curve, hit the brakes and it would stand straight up, then slam it into the next curve. It ...

Martin, I don't know if the GTS and SD frames are the same or not. I am new to this bevel drive stuff and need to read a few books, which Steve has recommended. I have some literature which is to be mailed to me next week which came with the bike. Rex forgot to bring it when he brought the bike toda...
