Thanks Chris. Looks like I can't get away with being a cheapskate after all. I'll do the full upgrade.

electrical gurus!

Hi Guyz. My 250 Diana loses spark when hot. Replaced coil, condenser etc. to no avail. Also had flywheel remagnetized. Anyway, looks like the flywheel coils are breaking down when hot. (No surprise there since they're fifty years old.) Anyway, before forking out the big bucks for one of the modern f...

Thanks again Chris. I have a very complete 250 narrow case Scrambler. It runs, but the engine needs a thorough rebuild. However, I also have a spare 350 Sebring engine which is in pretty good shape, and since the 250 is a bit underpowered.... Too, I really love the power characteristics of my Sebrin...

Valve guide seals?

Is there a modern car or bike valve guide seal that can be used in place of the stock item? Or, is it even necessary to use a seal at all?

Thanks
(I'm starting work on an interesting narrow-case project, photos of which will eventually follow.)

If you still have questions about your Sebring

Just looked at my mailbox and was surprised to find all sorts of questions about Sebrings, many of them quite old. Never knew they were there, or I would have responded. Anyway, if you have questions about your Sebring please mail me at: glider_boy1@yahoo.co.jp or, leave a message for me on the site...

Score! Those forks are worth as much as the bike. And if that's a Jelly Mold bike to go with the Jelly Mold tank, you really scored. Sadly, after many years of dreaming of a barn find of my own, and more than a few pretty good deals, I've yet to experience a true 'eureka' moment. Oh well, hope linge...

"condensers are new old stock, not used"

I don't care if they're old new stock or new old stock or just plain old, you don't want to use 'em. Get a new condenser. If that doesn't do it, try a new coil.

as a further thought I am running ngk b7hs plug,would a b6hs be a better option

No.

Putting a 'dam' in the exhaust pipe just downstream of where the header pipe enters the head may improve your lower-end performance considerably. Assuming the carb and timing, etc. are within spec., you probably have a negative pressure wave traveling back up the pipe, arriving at valve overlap and ...

Flywheel pullers??

Does anyone sell flywheel pullers for the narrow-case singles? And, do the magneto and AC flywheels use the same puller?

Thanks

Most likely the low-speed circuits in the carb are plugged. Disassemble carb, soak in lacquer thinner (not paint thinner, not gasoline, lacquer thinner) for about 30 min. then blow out with high-pressure air. while it's apart, confirm that the jetting is what the manual calls for.
