if the pivot hole is worn out (common thing to happen) I suggest you bore it out and press in a bronze sleeve which lasts a good long time..

is there a long shroud over the main fork spring? That was used to minimize that clunking. Perhaps yours has been removed and that the issue. The original springs were a bit smaller OD than they should have been. If you were way low on fork fluid you would get the clunking. Headset bearings too loos...

By default, you need to ALWAYS soak the fiber plates in your engine oil before assembling them. All WET clutch kits, that is. You have a lot of NEW stuff. Your old motor you probably got away with just giving it a bit of gas and letting the clutch out.... This is all new and will take time to figure...

tilt fender and get 1 side in place

now squeeze the other side in and over the studs

You can also use tape to protect the paint of course

sounds like the shifter spring is broken and/or the adjustment is off.
