At last solved the mystery,after lots of headscratching threw away the supressed (some people call them resistor) sparkplug cap & replaced it with non resistor/unsupressed cap,had no problems since,I can only assume the old cap was breaking down under heat.Finaly stopped raining over here by the...

condensers are new old stock,not used,as a further thought I am running ngk b7hs plug,would a b6hs be a better option

thanks for the replies,I did wonder about the condensor,on a previous brit bike I did mount one externaly to help with cooling,is the voltage range critical as I have some nos lucas 12v ones from my mini racing days ,mikeb

thanks for the tip bob,I did have the bike on centre stand,suprising how much difference it makes doing this with wheels on the ground,bike is now refilled with correct 2.1 ltrs,as a thought is there anything against overfilling narrow case engines ie excess crankcase pressure, mike

Hello,just drained sump,cleaned filter & refilled oil,however dry fill capacity is given as 2.1 ltrs I have only managed to refill with about 1.5 ltrs,is this ok or am I being paranoid,I remember my old darmah would not take the full qty on oil changes.I have run the engine & let the bike st...

Just to prove I'm not scared of the cold,you can still see the frost on the ground ,photo of my '78 darmah,minus origional speelines(safely tucked away in the shed)all origional condition except for replacement exhaust system.Will re-appear next year wearing alloy tank,SS seat,2 into 1 exh,jota bars...

wobbly bevel !!,

Sorry to dissagree Peter,but my old Darmah with leccy start & a battery the size of a small family house is rock steady at more than the legal speed limit,my money is on headrace problem.Does the wobble become worse or more apparent on deceleration,if so the fault is almost certainly due to play...
