Re: Fitting Dyna Coils to 81 MHR.. Ballast Resistor Needed?

The Dyna coils have to sit a little forward of their original position as they are too fat to fit between the frame down tubes.. I made the low tension wires over length as it made wiring everything up easier. Probably made them too long, and may shorten them, depends if they are still visible with ...

Re: Fitting Dyna Coils to 81 MHR.. Ballast Resistor Needed?

The Dyna coils are a little fatter than the NP originals, and so wont fit in the OE position … in the triangle made by the two down tubes and the cross brace under the headstock. In the pic above the coils are mounted on the brackets used to mount the ignitor boxes on my 81 MHR. Did the bike picture...

Fitting Dyna Coils to 81 MHR.. Ballast Resistor Needed?

One of the coils on my 81 MHR has a problem.. the low tension wire has broken right where it enters the coil. So I've decided to replace them both with new 5 ohm Dyna coils.. DC-10-1. The question is do I still need to keep the ballast resistors when using these new coils. I have read a few old thre...

Ducati Watercolour

I have a few of this artists prints, I wanted the original of this painting, as the MHR in it is partly based on my own bike, as I gave the artist a few detailed photos of mine. Here he is painting the original, while my print is below.. its behind glass so not too clear.. I always thought the SS750...

Re: Front Tyre Clearance with a wider 18x110 tyre?

Thanks for the reply, I'll keep looking for a similar but slightly wider fender.. pity as I really like the styling of the SS900 fender.

Front Tyre Clearance with a wider 18x110 tyre?

Looking at the front tyre clearance with its fender, on my MHR, there doesn't seem to be much room to mount a 110 width tyre, compared to the 100 width which is fitted now. I don't want to fit a wider front tyre on the MHR, but I have another project.. a Guzzi which uses a 18x110 front tyre as stand...

Re: After 25 years, its time

My dad lives in Hoylake! We should meet up next time I'm visiting the UK. Small world indeed.. I live half way between Liverpool and Manchester. I just received a bag of seals.. ally crush washers for the case plugs.. I foolishly reused the old ones 25 years ago.. resulting in a tiny oil weep. Ther...
