Odd Darmah Clutch Cable Setup

Hello folks, So I'm used to everything on my 860 now and there are few surprises when I look at the Darmah I just picked up. The clutch cable routing seems odd, but the actual attachment of the cable seems exceptionally strange. The clutch cable from the handle goes through a small pulley that doubl...

Re: 900SS vs 900SD

Ha! Thanks, Doug! Andy replied to me in a different thread and I must have accidentally thanked him double and you not at all. Well I fixed that above, but thank you, Doug, for the link to that thread! Well I've got her running again, using carbs off a different bike. Took her down to my club meetin...

1980 Darmah Carb Tuning

Hey folks! Thanks to everyone that helped me get my '75 860GT carbs better sorted. It's now finished on NorcalTT (500ish miles) and one MotoMelee(900ish miles). I've now picked up a low mileage 1980 Darmah and I'm trying to get the PHF32(AD/AS) carbs sorted. I've completely disassembled them and hav...

Re: 900SS vs 900SD

Thanks everyone. I picked up the Darmah last week and had it running 48 hours later. Still a number of things to sort out, but I'm loving it so far.

Re: 900SS vs 900SD

Doug, Thanks for the thread link. I'd read some other SD/SSD identifying threads but this was the definitive version. Looks like there is a 98% chance that I'm the new owner of a low mileage Darmah, and a 2% chance I'm accidentally the owner of an SSD instead. I took another look at the bike today a...

Re: 900SS vs 900SD

Thanks for the article, 81mhr! Part of the issue is I can't discern if it is a 900SD or 900SSD as I've never had these models. Something to be fixed on the next visit to inspect the vin as the title offers no useful info. It does have Darmah (SD) side panels, not SSD or SS sidepanels, which original...

Andy,
Yep, unfortunately the off angle is from the parts, the camera is aimed dead on. It is going to be a split the cases situation.

860GT Update

Hey folks, I often post on the forum to ask for help, but I thought I'd just post to give people on update as I haven't posted in a while. In June of 2019 I had a FABULOUS ride on my '75 GT. 3 days, 900 miles, nothing but smiles and some interesting sightseeing: https://i.imgur.com/G3c7QvY.jpg https...

900SS vs 900SD

Folks, Talk to me about the 1980 900SS vs the 900SD. I just came back from looking at what I expected to be a 900SS. In fact, the entire time I was in my friend's garage I thought I was looking at a 900SS, but there were a few quirky things that I thought were odd. Looking back on my photos, I'm 98%...

Wheel surprises

Hey folks, I was trouble shooting my carbs in the other subforum and pulled my wheels to replace my tires the day before a 500+ mile ride. Discovered the bearings were frozen. Short on time, I sourced some bearings at my local bearing shop and dropped off the wheels and bearings at my friend's shop ...

Re: Overflowing Carb

Alright, it's been a while since I posted. Bike is running decently, but I'm losing a cylinder on occasion. Ordering a Sachse ignition and will seek assistance if I can't get the carbs balanced perfectly after that. Thanks again for all the help. Here is a pic of the bike on the 49 Mile Ride in San ...

860S # 850xxx # Is the VIN number

DGM # 13xxx # is the part number
