Just to say that it was exactly as Bill suggested, the timing rotor has shifted, I stripped it out set the timing carefully again and it is now running better than ever before.

Hi Alan, I did the same on my 82 MHR. Not sure of the problem but check the wiring maybe the wrong way around.

Hi Barry, it is an aftermarket Rita electronic ignition, the pick up is off the rear cylinder bevel drive.

MHR fairing paint removal
Does anyone know of the best way to safely remove the paint off the fibreglass fairing on the MHR. The paint on mine has cracked and bubbled, I suspect it has been repainted without removing the previous layer. At this stage I plan to sand the paint off by hand but that is a tedious process.
