The mixture screw having no effect on low/idle speed points to a blockage. What is likely is the idle speed screw is in enough to make the carb draw through the needle jet which will give you an idle of sorts but not a go...

Really!!!! I will give it a go, ready to try anything, but why is this not more a common problem now with unleaded fuel? I've been battling this problem for 18 months now and it's only just now that I am getting a few people suggesting this. Don't get me wrong, thank you so much for taking the time ...

Although I can wind the mixture screw in and it will falter and stall. wdietz186: Hmmm that's interesting. Yes I do use a lead substitute. I would be worried about not using though...?...

Here is an update. I swapped the ignition boxes over and the bike ran well for a while. Then after a few times out the front plug started to fail again. So I have ruled out the ignition boxes. But here is the interesting discovery. I grabbed a previously failed plug and sprayed CRC on it and gave it...

I did have someone suggest a sticky shim when it gets hot. Not sure about that as I have had the head done by Pete Smith at epicyc...

Hi Rick, how did you go, I am very interested as I have exactly the same problem on my S2. This is the first time I have found someone with the same issue. I have replaced inlet manifold gaskets, cleaned the carbs a million times, had the head removed and the valves reseated, have just put new rings...

Hi there guys. Thanks Lumpy for the post. Have had a lot of drama after putting the head back on but think it might be rings now. Interestingly Lumpy I did do the oil squirt test just before you mentioned it on the post and the compression did come up to normal. i think maybe the rings are phuked. I...

Bevel Dave. Took your advice and sent to Pete Smith. He is by far the god of machining. Please if anyone needs work in this area do not go anywhere else but Epicycle. Slightly off topic now my head is back in shape. I want to ask a question regarding carbs. My front cylinder needs the throttle stop ...
