Re: and finally..

Welcome Larsen: I very stupidly sold my 81 Formula Mirage about 20 years ago. It complimented my 81 MHR very well.

Post some pics!

Re: New member Cheshire uk

Hi Alan:

I've been absent from forums for a while. Welcome to the group.

My bike is UNM766W. There was a rush to register bikes in the UK by the end of March 81 to avoid a jump in fees so there are a bunch of 81 MHRs with UNM plates, I think, all from Coburn and Hughes.

Good luck

Re: New member from Fukuoka, Japan.

From YouTube videos, you seem to be in very good company in Japan; lots of old bevels. Welcome to this group.

Re: Odd Darmah Clutch Cable Setup

Surely the pulley setup also shortens the overall cable pull at the clutch arm end so even less movement of the clutch plates.

Re: Rear master cylinder

The front and rear should both be 15mm; same rebuild kits for both master cylinders. Part no. 079539739

Re: No shims on swinging arm

Hi Charles: The parts manual shows three sizes: https://www.ducaticlassics.com/parts/75 ... and-shocks

My bet would be that a previous owner had the swing arm off and had trouble getting it back on with shims on both sides so gave up trying.

Good luck

Re: Darmah red & white

Hi Stew: From memory, the Darmah red was more orange than the MHR red. I was very successful matching MHR red at a local autoshop. They used a colour scanner on my lower fairing and matched both perfectly.

Re: Hi all!

Hi Miguel: You have excellent taste in motorbikes. Very sadly, I sold my old, 81 Formula Mirage about 20 years ago. I still have my 81 Hailwood Replica. Welcome to the group.

Re: Electrical components for 900ss

I took a look at the wiring diagrams for 81 SS bikes (there are at least 3 depending on market) and none show any relays. Ducati electrics are not well designed; the lack of relays means full load goes through the switches and sometimes the switches can get damaged so it is not uncommon to see after...

Re: Electrical components for 900ss

You are asking a little late as you have already bought some expensive parts! I would have strongly advised you to go with a more modern electronic ignition. This would mean no Bosch boxes or resistors. Check out this thread showing lots of pics of my mods: http://forum.bevelheaven.com/viewtopic.php...

Re: Rear axle clamps - 900ss

Like Steve says: three are 6.5mm thick and one is 5mm thick and it goes on the inner, left side. Watch out when you go looking for new ones as there are some sellers that sell a set of 4 identical thicknesses. I've not seen curved ones before like shown in your picture.
