Re: Hello Everybody out there
John Well that was great to read your recollections! Oliver replaced me as I had just left to work as a prototype engineer at the Mercedes engine plant at Marienfelde, West Berlin. Actually when I got bored of that job I did actually come back and work for OME for a few months while I was lining eve...

Hi Craig
What a shame that catalog isn't from the mid or late 70's instead of '70. None the lass I'm half temped to buy it just for the fun of browsing through it!

Re: 250 Scrambler back from the dead
Well done- I take my hat off to you- that's a hell of alot of work you've accomplished- and to a very high standard. That's a great boil you've got going- do you get any problems with wort caramelising on the element? Might I offer a piece of hard-won advice? (as I said, just tell me to get lost if ...

Re: 250 Scrambler back from the dead
That's funny- you and I like metal fabbing, bikes and making beer! Let me know if you get bored of my questions. So, is that a heat exchanger in the lower right of the pic showing the fv's in the white tiled area ? Does that little 90deg tail mean you dump the hot water to drain? Do you have any coo...

Re: 250 Scrambler back from the dead
Wow, it looks like a lovely setup. So are you saying it's not for commerce, just for you and friends? If so, that's ten times cooler in my book. To have the budget and drive to build it simply for private use is excellent. What's the brewlength?

My compliments- what a beautiful job you've done. I'm very envious of your shop- it looks very well equipped.
Out of interest, where is the brewery? And is the mash tun in the same room as the conditioning vessels?

Re: wrong carbs
No, having the slides hanging on the cables never works - the tickover goes all over the place if you move the handlebars left or right. :wah"

Re: 1974 750 sport/GT bits wanted
How, by any stretch of the imagination, is 'dog doodie' any better than the word I used?
The word I used is to clearly describe something- dog doodie is a weak euphemism.
"If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...."!

Re: 1974 750 sport/GT bits wanted
Hey, you know what? I just took a good close-up look at that bracket (those are good hi res pics) and it looks like such a typical Ducati piece of dog doodie! I'm laughing as I type this! That thing is just so par for the course! I've also just noticed that the word I actually typed has been magical...

Re: 1974 750 sport/GT bits wanted
That's going to be the most time consuming aspect, dealing with those two tabs. I am inclined to drill the hole to where the base line of the tabs is, then simply file out the rest to the larger diameter but leaving the two tabs untouched. As for the other end, as it were, does that mount on the sam...

Re: 70's MV Agusta 750
the beauty of these machines is they give their own characteristic ride that modern bikes can't do. All three in that photo will give a lot of enjoyment to someone who tries them. That sum's it up better than I could have. I will say however, that MV seat is the most luxurious thing I've parked my ...
