Darmah rear brake linkage: clevis pins
Lost the rear clevis pin on the rear brake rod while riding (!) yesterday. I pulled up the parts book, made available by our gracious host, and I see that there are 2 clevis pins, with different part numbers, presumably different sizes, for front and the rear clevis. I look at my bike, and the front...

custom/modified rear intake manifold
I have a '78 SD which has intake manifolds with 52mm stud spacing. I would like to fit larger carbs than the 32 PHM but when I do (using rubber couplers from Malossi), the rear carb sticks out of the frame so I can't use the sidecover. I think I read somewhere where someone trimmed down the flange o...

oil leak from vertical bevel tube base
Hello, It appears that I have an oil leak from the bevel tube base of the vertical cylinder on my 78 Darmah. It looks to be coming directly from the space between the base and the bevel tube itself. Is there a trick way to replace the O-ring without lowering the motor and removing heads etc.? Thanks...

WTB Sprocket Cover
Hello, I'm looking for a spare sprocket cover for the squarecase bosch in my 78 Darmah. Does anyone have an extra they'd be willing to part with? I've seen a few on eBay but they're both listed at well over $300... perhaps a member here might have one they'd sell more cheaply? Please PM or email me ...

Sump plug specs and sprocket cover
Hello, I have had a small oil leak since I bought my bike due to overtightening of the sump plug and damaged threads in the case. I'm due for an oil change and I'd like to helicoil this while I have the oil out. Anyone know the size/thread for the sump plug? Also, my sprocket cover has a crack and I...

Starter motor
Hello, does anyone have a spare starter motor lying around they'd be willing to sell? Mine has failed catastrophically. Thanks in advance for any/all replies.

Re: Top Speed?
According to the Owners Manual, the speedo is marked redline at 7400 rpm. The text lists max engine rpm at 7800. I've only run mine to about 6200.

Re: Top Speed?
Thanks, Craig. In fact, thank you VERY MUCH for your past posts... you have unknowingly helped me solve several problems rebuilding this bike.
Do you happen to have an opinion on the true redline RPM of a Bosch Squarecase (properly warmed up, of course)?
thanks again!

Top Speed?
I read an old forum post somewhere here where a guy said something to the effect of "God help you if you're running a Darmah at 100 mph." I have a '78 Darmah that I've just put the finishing touches on. I've just put new rubber on and the carbs are synced. She runs like a raped ape. Why no...

Re: Fuel shooting from hole in PHF32
Dean, thank you for your reply. I posted my question after I had reassembled the carbs and initially started the bike. I had not primed the pumps prior to starting it up. They are assembled correctly. After a bit, the fuel squirting from the float bowl vent stopped. I assumed at that time that it mi...

Fuel shooting from hole in PHF32
There is a small hole on the carb body just below the choke mechanism. I rebuilt my carbs and now I have fuel spurting from this hole on my rear carb immediately after hitting the throttle each time. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Re: 78 SD rear brake setup
Well that was easy. A little bit of heat and a couple of good whacks with a hammer and now it works perfectly. About 3 mm clearance from the kickstarter. It only took a wee bit of heat so my chrome is still in good shape, too.
Thanks again Kev
